64 Days of Peace-part of the Season for Peace and Nonviolence which through the Association for Global New Thought, commemorates the 64 days-January 30 through April 4th, between the anniversaries of the assassinations of Mahatma Gandhi and Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Season's purpose is to create an awareness of nonviolent principles and practice as a powerful way to heal, transform and empower people's lives. Nonviolence means to honor the inherent worth of every human being, to seek to understand each other, build friendship and community. Nonviolence means believing that our lives are connected, that we are each other's keeper, It means that we are responsible for practicing compassion. It means recognizing love as the power of the human spirit to triumph over injustice, inequity and suffering. In this eight week class, we will look at bringing these principles into our lives through our conversation, relationships, being centered and through our day-to-day interactions.
Classes meet Sundays, beginning January 27th at the Community Room in the Valley Mall, (across the hall from HCC classrooms) at 2:00-3:30. For more information call Sandy-304-279-6854
